I attended and heard more stories like this. Some just stories l am sure. I witnessed 3 security guards force my friend onto the floor for asking why they were escorting his friend off site. He was then loaded into the back of a van. Restrained and strip searched with no police present. (they found nothing) They took his money off him and drove him off site leaving him in the middle of the Cambridge countryside without a coat at 5.30 in the morning. He doesn't know the area and it took him a good 3 hours to hitch back to site. He didn't report it because as he said " its their word against mine." Being physical as a private security firm is debatedly and circumstancially acceptable to a degree but strip searching at all let alone by force is undoubtedly a criminal act. They need to rethink their choice of security firm next year as the general consensus at the festival was that this sort of behaviour was relatively widespread and in contrast to the police who seemed to be appreciated in comparison. The security tainted an otherwise very peaceful festival.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
