£500,000 Global Impact Award

Google today launched the Global Impact Challenge, inviting British non-profits to
tell them how they would use technology to transform lives. The top four submissions
will each receive a £500,000 Global Impact Award, as well as mentoring and support
to help make their project a reality. We’re delighted to be supporting this
initiative, and encourage you to apply.

Applications open today and you may apply online by 17 April 2013 at: A team from Google will review applications and announce ten
finalists in mid May. The public will then be invited to learn more about the top
ten finalists, cast a vote for their favourite and donate directly to any project
they wish to support.

The final event, to take place in early June, will feature a judging panel made up
of Sir Richard Branson, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Jilly Forster, Matt Brittin and
Jacquelline Fuller, who will select three awardees. The fourth awardee, based on
online votes from the public, will also be revealed.
