B arts is glad to announce Growing Hearts and Minds. A new project
with funds successfully secured from Ecominds, to work in the Northwood
area of Stoke on Trent for 18 months , during 2010 - 2011.

The objective of the project is to combine creativity and natural
environment to develop a greater capacity for individuals to self-manage
mental health conditions. We are interested in reaching adults who may
currently suffer mental health distress, but to also increase knowledge
and understanding about mental health issues for the users and the staff
of Northwood Park and residents in the surrounding area.

Residency Opportunities - We are offering a series
of 6 short residencies to professional artists. One
residency per season ( 2-3 months). Minimum of 14 delivery sessions per
residency. Total commission £3000 plus a materials budget.

Suitable for artists who excel in participatory workshops and feel
inspired by nature and the potential offered by the urban outdoors.
These residencies would be of particular interest to artists who would
like to further their experience in arts and health work in North
Staffordshire, by building close working relationships with Brighter
Futures, other local organisations and community groups.

Due to the text limit within Arts Jobs Listings - we
strongly advise you to contact us for full details about these
opportunities before submitting a proposal.

Please contact B arts for a Growing Hearts and Minds Artist
Residency Pack.

Closing date for final submissions is midnight Monday 9th
August 2010.
