Plane Crash- technology in action
This photo, of the US Airways jet that crashed into the Hudson River Thursday, brought so much traffic to TwitPic that the site, which allows users of several mobile phones to post pictures to Twitter, saw its servers get overloaded. Credit: Janis Krums)
One of the very first pictures to be posted from the Hudson River was obtained by a Twitterer from Florida, Janis Krums. Mr Krums, who was on a ferry, took a picture on his phone and immediately posted it on Twitpic.
Twitpic is a site which is helping in the transformation of Twitter from a pared-down messaging tool into a multimedia service.
