Government gets heavy against Climate Change protesters
You know the Government/corporations are losing when they try to rush in daft laws to stop effective protests. This turn they are trying to stop protests against Climate Change.
Correspondent Afua Hirsch explains why the attorney general, Baroness Scotland, is considering asking the courts to get tough with high-profile direct-action protests. The move follows the decision in September by a jury at Maidstone crown court to clear six Greenpeace activists of criminal damage to Kingsnorth coal-fired power station. The jury accepted the protesters' argument that they intended to protect property from global warming.
